CD8+ T-cell regulation of post-MI remodeling

We aim to determine the role of CD8+ T-cells during remodeling of post-myocardial infarction. Our focus is to understand the direct and indirect molecular mechanisms of scar formation through regulation of the innate immune system and cardiac fibroblasts. Our goal is to identify potential targets for cellular therapy that will modulate the fibrotic scar post-myocardial infarction and decrease risks for ischemic heart failure.
